First things first, let’s talk numbers. Maybe all you need to know is that in just one year, Instagram Stories has surpassed its rival, Snapchat, in users and time spent on platform.  Instagram Stories has over 250 million users, leaving Snapchat’s 166 million users in the dust.

Putting this data aside, you can benefit from a few extra features with Instagram Stories that will help you expand your branding.

  1. Instagram allows you to cross-publish with Facebook stories. This means not only extra eyes on your content, but also raised awareness of your Instagram account which can result in organic growth.
  2. Instagram LIVE now allows you to go public with friends. Thinking of partnering with a brand? Working with someone already? This is a great feature! Round up both audiences by doing an Instagram Story LIVE. It will allow you both to connect with a wider fan base and introduce your brand to a new customer base.
  3. An Instagram Story takeover is a quick way to grow your account. It involves either taking over another Instagram account, generally for a 24-hour period, or having a person or business take over your account.
  4. Another uniqe way to use Instagram Stories is to deliver offers in your stories content. Example: Post a “coupon” as an Instagram storyand announce that the offer expires at the end of the 24-hour story period.
